“You are the salt of the earth…You are the light of the world.” Matthew 5:13-14
I started back to work on Monday and have felt so overwhelmingly blessed by the sweet families and children who have been placed in Chris and I’s lives. For those of you who don’t know, my husband and I own an art studio. I get to sell my art, teach precious kiddos and Chris has his photography/film studio in the back. We wanted to create a place that was our ministry. We try and show kids everyday that you can be “cool” and artsy and be christians that love fervently, forgive easily, and overflow with Jesus. This isn’t always easy but we try. For nine months these sweet kids and families watched my belly grow and now Aiden is the most popular baby in town. He was born with instant friends…so many sweet little hands and hearts that already adore him. We set up the pack and play in the back for him to have a place to sleep and I even taught a class with my little man in my sling. I quote often from my favorite book, A Beautiful Offering….so here is my thought for the day. “Our responsibility (as salt) is to make men and women thirsty for God because of our lives.” I remembered Monday why I love my job. I am blessed to be able to work with my husband and have our little guy there with me while I work….but it is more than that. God has blessed us with such an amazing opportunity. We get to let little creative minds blossom, confidence’s built, Jesus is talked about and hopefully over time lives will be changed. My prayer for Chris and I is to continually remember that quote as we work.
You are an amazing woman of Christ. Those kids are so lucky to have you and Chris as examples. Keep it up!
Y’all have already been the biggest blessing to so many! the joy of the Lord that you both have is so contagious and encouraging.
