my little teenager
I have joked a lot about Aiden being my little teenager.
Really this only applies to his sleeping habits.
Since he was a teeny tiny baby he has been a night owl! He likes to sleep until 9 (sometimes 10 no kidding), then somewhere around 7 or 8 pm he goes from a great mood to the happiest he’s been all day. Hyper, happy, energetic!
I took this pic at 10:30 the other night when he was in the tub…. I told him we probably should start thinking about bedtime and this is the face he gave me.
And do you see his hands? They are moving towards the baby sign language sign for “more”. He’s too funny. If you are a mama let me just tell you how amazing baby sign language has been for us. My little man is a late talker but has had no trouble communicating with all his signs!
He is just the sweetest.
and wouldn’t ya know my sweet ainsleigh is just the opposite, early to bed and an early riser 🙂

Awww…He is so sweet Casey! My best friend taught her little girl sign language and will probably do it with her little boy! It is amazing because they did it before they could even say words. I am for sure going to do it with our kids!

You are not alone! I dread Bedtime…really…just writing about it right now I hyperventilate. I have three and even my two oldest who go to school I will find still awake at 10:30…I wrote a post about it the other day 🙂

oh he is the cutest thing!! i'm sort of jealous of the 9am sleeping in, although i don't know if i could last until 10:30 at night 🙂 totally like teenager, i love it!
Haha I love that face he gave you. Too funny. And how cool is that they have different sleeping styles? I know it may not seem like it sometimes (like maybe when you're super tired yourself), but it allows you to have those early mornings with JUST Ainsleigh and the late nights with JUST Aiden. Sweet bonding time.
i have to ask: what is that snake like thing coming out of the bath tub?
ok…he could be best friends with my 3 year old dylan….I call him my
"frat boy"….he could stay up until midnight if I let him….and around 9 he starts saying he is hungry…because of course he would rather play than sit down and eat dinner…My older son is in bed by 8 and asleep by 9…but my frat boy wants to stay up all night…and gives me those same dirty looks when I try to prep him for bed….its just thier personality. At least Im not alone…thanks. Love it!!!

What I love is you seem to embrace whatever/ however he is…not forcing him – bedtime, pacifier, … That is how I am. They are only small once… They won't do certain habits forever.

YES! Zach and Ainsleigh really are meant to be! Let's start the planning 🙂 He woke up this morning at 4:30am for the day. He got in bed with me and wrapped his arm around my neck and said Mommy. He finally says it! But like I always do in the middle of the night when I'm up with my baby – I thought about you and the sweet bond we share over our kiddos. I love that our "mommy hearts" are so similar 🙂
my boy is real close to aiden in age and had almost identical curly blonde hair till daddy took him for a "trim" without me 🙂
we sign too. before my babies were born, i worked with children/adults with disabilities and alot of people with hearing loss who used ASL so i have a fairly extensive vocabulary and i started with just basic/baby friendly signs with my boy but then started just signing words i knew to him while i verbalized them outloud and he has picked up so much!! its so good.
dying! 🙂 He is PRECIOUS! I especially love the picture with his straight hair! 🙂 So "hollywoodish!" AND i am OBSESSED with baby sign language! 🙂 it is AWESOME! 🙂 now, if only dogs could learn it! 🙂
