a coffee date.

Photobucket

Want to have a dr.pepper date with me?

Actually I just ran out this morning so you would have to maybe bring one over for me :).

Photobucket

If you came over to hangout, Aiden would start bringing every single dinosaur from his room to you and tell you about each one. Ains would be giggling at our dogs and following Aiden around the room.

I would tell you that everyone that I know with due dates around the same time as me (the baby we lost) is now founding out the gender…and even though I dont want it to sting….it does.

I would tell you that I have been on an inspiration surge lately and cannot wait to share some new things I have been working on artistically.

I would tell you that my kid’s dreams have already become my dreams. I have many friends whose parents have helped their kid’s dreams come true. They helped them build a dream that would sustain and provide for their own families. So incredible, I too have made this a mission for each of our kids.

I would ask you about you, your life….I would ask how I can bless you?

I would tell you that my marriage the past year has been better than ever. Chris and I have never been in a better place. Still learning, trying to understand each other, still knowing it takes work…. but just closer and happier than we have been ever in our time together.

I would tell you that when I look at Chris and his talents and gifts I beg and plead with God to let him use them for something phenomenal. Chris has so much to offer, it blows my mind.

I would tell you that I want a baby so bad I can hardly stand it. I want a full house of these lovelies.

I would tell you that A Little Artsy is growing and that our fulltime teacher there (DEB)-(although shes MUCH more than a teacher) is an angel from heaven. Along with Danielle and Heather who bless me beyond words.

I would tell you that 2 friends of mine miscarried last week…one it was her first baby and the other was just recovering from a stillborn birth and then miscarried. And that I dont understand it. Yet I do- because we aren’t made for here.

I would tell you that this time of year makes me happy. Boots, hot chocolate, fire going, Christmas music and baby snuggles.

I would tell you that I have some fun things planned for this blog and my art career in the next year! And would ask you some of your goals for the new year?!

Maybe again soon? xoxo

*****************
also this is TOO sweet not to share. Seriously, the sweetest ever: one of your lovely husbands wanted to surprise you and purchased an ad space for December as a small Christmas gift! His words in his email were, ” I am so proud of my wife for putting together this wonderful blog for our daughter and would love to share with the world how fun she is and how much she means to us.” So Dear Little Lady…you will be joining us next month! xoxo

Casey~ I love how you always have such a positive outlook on everything. This time of year is so wonderful, but also very hard on alot of people. It's great knowing that anytime I come to your blog I'll get a good dose of positive love. Thank you for always being so great! πŸ™‚ Xo

  2. Alaythea says:

Such a sweet post – I miss having an actual friend to talk to like this. My husband and I are also in such a good place right now and I hope it only gets better. I too look at him in utter amazement – he's so talented and I so badly want God to use him where he's passionate. I too want a baby SO bad but we won't be having any more biological children and right now our finances don't allow any other options……it saddens me greatly (now) that my child may be an only child. But I keep reminding myself of all I do have and I'm doing my best to find contentment there!

  3. Mrs. T says:

I want more babies so badly, too. We won't be able to for another year, but I am looking forward to that time!

That is SO sweet of her husband to surprise her! How precious!

  26. Kirsten says:

If the world were full of Casey Wiegand's it would be a better place…for sure.

My plans for the New Year include being thankful everyday for all that I have, to continue working on becoming a more relaxed Mom and just let my kids be kids, to work on my overall health because hey…if I don't take care of myself (not in the selfish way) then I won't be much use to anyone else.

I also plan to keep looking to you for more inspiration! Keep it coming(no pressure)! =)

  27. Anonymous says:

  29. I don't have any children and my husband and I aren't trying yet. But, I have been working for the last couple years to get my diabetes under control as much as possible. I can hardly think of anything else. I read your story about your third child. Heart-breaking. My friend just suffered her third miscarriage. I have another friend who miscarried at 5 months. I am so incredibly afraid of this. But you are right, I/we all have to trust God's plans for our life – and know there's more to look forward to than just this life. I have thought/prayed about you often since reading. I am also hoping to one day be a stay-at-home mom and find some way to make our income work. But, I know those are really God's plans to work out – not mine. You are an inspiration. <3

  30. I would love to sit and talk with you about our kids, husbands, the pain of miscarriage and the desire to have more babies.

    Dear Little Lady-your husband rocks!

  31. this is such a sweet post. babies are soo precious and i can't wait to meet mine. my heart breaks for everyone who faces trouble conceiving or having trouble. i am just praying that mine is born healthy!

Love your writing! I am sorry fornthe baby you lost. <3

  40. Erin says:

I love how you put it that we are not meant to understand the things of this world because "we aren't made for here." This is bringing me endless peace and many smiles tonight. Praying for you, your husband, those little ones, and for the next beautiful baby that God will bless you with! Cannot wait for the day you announce it!

  41. I am LOVD says:

Casey, I enjoyed our Dr. Pepper break! Your words are so lovely. I'm not sure if my post had anything to do with realizing we, as parents, are our kids biggest supporters to their dreams, helping them make their way through this world by allowing them the opportunity to explore their passions and contribute their true gifts to the world.

BTW, a local store boutique is having my son (age 9 – future film director), film and direct a TV x-mas spot for their store. I'm so proud of my kiddo – he had ideas for the production before I even finished reading the request to him!

  42. Becky says:

Love the coffee date posts!! And what a sweet husband for such a sweet surprise!!! Made me say "awww"!

  43. Carol says:

Casey…You are so so blessed….and I love how you post about it!! That's what makes you (AND your blog) so beautiful and relatable! I'm blessed to have 'met' you. Hopefully, someday, in person~

Aw, I love the concept of this post! Very creative. Keep it going and happy Thanksgiving! πŸ™‚

  45. I have posted a blog that I would greatly appreciate if you looked at and talked about it in an upcoming post. I dont know these people, but it is a blog about a couple who cannot have children, but who are trying to adopt. Their blog is beautiful and needs lots of exposure so they can have the miracle of a child in their life. Thanks Casey!

Mmm, Dr Pepper and coffee and prayer keep me going through the day! πŸ™‚

    lovely thoughts!

  47. Beth says:

This post seriously warms my heart, Casey. You have a beautiful way with words. I can picture sitting at your kitchen table and having Aiden & Ains coming in & out with giggles & smiles. This makes me wish I lived in Texas, I'd totally do a Dr.Pepper/coffee date. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. πŸ™‚

  48. Heather says:

More babies, yes, please. And no more stillbirths and miscarriages and losses for my friends (or anyone) who have suffered enough. My friends lost a baby at 28 weeks one year ago next month and it weighs heavy on my heart. I have so much with my daughter and they have to see that and wish for that and they may never have it.

And the girl who's husband purchased that add space is such a lucky girl!

  49. Anonymous says:

You have such a tender and loving heart… I love "we aren't made for here". I found your blog around the time of your recent heartbreak. My heart broke for you too. Thank you for your amazing testimony throughout it all, even though I'm sure it's a difficult road to go along.

  50. Cindy says:

First of all~ Dr Pepper is my fav too and I would bring you some if I was closeby. (Have you tried the DrPepper Bold10? SUPA GOOD!) And second, I get so uplifted when I hear what a blessing Deb has been for A Little Artsy. I know she feels so happy there too. I'm proud of her. Third, how cool that there was a surprise sponser for a loved one. I love that!!

  51. Momma Bird says:

You are SO Texan πŸ™‚ That's one of the first things I noticed about you lovely texans – you and your love of Dr.Pepper! I couldn't believe that these women I worked with actually drank it for breakfast instead of coffee! lol Too cute. I actually jumped on that bandwagon after living there for 4 years. I miss that great state.
Loved this little coffee date πŸ™‚ Let's for sure do it again.
Praying for so many great things to come with Christ, your artsy shop, and this blog. You are so very talented and have a heart that is so pure, I know God will bless you in more ways than you will ever know.
πŸ™‚ Hope you are enjoying your Thanksgiving weekend!!

    Hey Casey,

Your coffee date posts are my absolute favorite. I love the simplicity of one or two sentences that cut straight to the heart of each topic that's on your mind.

I wanted to ask if I could borrow your concept. I have a very small blog that is mostly read by family and friends who don't live near us. I think these posts give the feeling that the person reading is actually recalling a coffee date with you, and I think my family/friends would really love it. Would you mind if I did posts in a similar style? Would you prefer that I reference your blog as the source of inspiration for these posts?
