organization, meal plans and more.

I decided with this new year it was time to get organized.
I have successfully done one week of meal planning, am getting caught up, have somewhat of a night.time routine for the babies and got a new planner c/o Plum Paper Designs!

I have this giant calendar on my wall above my desk but wanted something that is with me always. This way I have A Little Artsy schedules, blog schedules and family schedules all in one spot!

Also, on a weeknight (I have done this only once but I have every intention of doing this every week now because it made things so much better around here) I make out a list of what we will eat for dinner everyday and all of the ingredients and then get everything for the week that night. Because Chris works from home I actually wound up making most of my dinners for lunch and then we had leftovers for dinner! It was perfect!

Love it. It is difficult keeping it all straight even if you work from home. I love the planner, so cute. I like the idea of doing a lot of cooking one day all the meals your family can enjoy the entire week.

  2. YES! Organization makes me really happy. I've not seen these super cute planners before, but I do like all the extra writing space and the monthly overview. Checking out the shop now!

Yay for the meal planning! I do the same thing for our little family {every two weeks} I also love thumbing through cookbooks for new inspiration as what to cook my family! 🙂
I am ALL about getting and STAYING organized in 2012! 🙂

I always love a good planner, and these ones look super cute. How long was the turn around time when you ordered?

  5. Summer says:

that IS so cute!!! totally reminds me of the Erin Condren Planner i use and obsess over.

we have BIG plans to plan out our dinners too….every day it's totally going to be the next day we'll do it. And it has yet to happen…maybe tonight. =) haha

Meal planning makes life sooo much easier! I plan the entire month at once. Then i shop for everything but produce in one day. Meat, cheese and other perishables get frozen in the deep freeze. Then i have a weekly produce list so when i do go to the store, its qquick and only for a few things. My life has been so so so much easier ssince i started doing this last year 🙂 please keep us posted with how its going for you and maybe meal ideas??

  7. so adorable! i just picked up a planner from Target this morning and love filling it in–i think it's a sickness :). Also, if you are interested, i just did a post about my monthly meal guides and how i organize them all, etc really easily. take a look and hope it helps! oh, and i think planning for the month saves us a lot of money too. Win! http://www.thehollierogue.com/2012/01/03/monthly-menu-guides-return/

That's so cute! Sometimes I get lost in my organization with too many different planners! One that handles all info is very usual! Super cute! And I love that's personalized!

Oh now I want one! My planner right now doesn't finish until July or August though.. boo :(. I love how the days are divided into morning, afternoon, evening, and night. So handy!!

  11. this is so great! i always meal plan with the weekly ads to save money. if chicken is on sale, we have chicken. if broccoli is on sale, we have broccoli. so i make my meal plan and my grocery list at once and save a lot of money doing so. and it makes life so much easier!!! xoxo!

Great ideas! One of my resolutions was to stay away from processed foods and that will definitely require some planning, or I'll just have Cap'n Crunch for dinner. I'm going to plan meals a week out this year!

  13. These are beautiful! Her whole shop is gorgeous. Thanks for introducing me to another obsession!
    I love it!

I am a HUGE organizer! I map out our meals every week on Sunday's before I hit up the grocery store. I love to plan, plan, plan! What cute organizers! I might have to order one myself. I tried using my ipad, but I like being able to actually right things down. Happy planning!

Would love for you to share some of your weekly meal plans. I really want to do this, but it seems that we always go to the grocery store with no list and no idea what to make for the week. I've been collecting recipes for months, but then I think about all the food I'd have to buy, I sort of freak out. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I was currently in the process of creating my own.. with meal plans etc. Hoping to cut down on grocery costs (we have a bad habit of going in.. and getting way more than what we planned on). This is awesome. I think I might buy one of these instead! Thanks!
