take the adventure.

My word for the year: brave.

I want to live an adventure, I really do. I actually tend to have a personality that would shrink back, play it safe, let the fear win. But God has different plans for this personality of mine. I feel Him moving in me, pushing me. I feel Him whispering to let go, trust Him… to LIVE. I don’t want to look back on my life wishing that I had soared more. I want to take the ride.
I feel Him saying to me, Ive got you. You are safe here. Be free, take the adventure.
I have learned: when you say yes to God… yes, use me. Yes, I will be brave. Yes, I am ready. He will. And it will be a wild, exhilarating, beautiful ride.
I want to be moved. I want to feel it all.
I am ready.

Oh my goodness…brave by Sara B is my 2014 anthem!!! And Brave Enough are my words. He is already guiding me to be brave enough and it's only 23 days into the new year. This is going to be the best year yet. Love your words as always. xo

I've felt this kind of feeling before, like I was just so anxious and excited, standing on the edge of something wonderful! I try to stay open to these kind of experiences, but it can be soooooo scary at the same time! I love your perspective and writing, thank you for sharing!

i like this, "when you say yes to God… yes, use me. Yes, I will be brave. Yes, I am ready. He will." God is incredible, when you ask He sure gives your desire in the right time. Be brave my friend.

  9. Casey – I found myself reading your words as if they were my own. The Lord has shown me many opportunities for adventure, mainly my upcoming marriage. My fiance is a dreamer that pushes the limits and I am very much like you – comfortable. Praying for opportunities to step out of the comfort is terrifying, but I love what you said…"You are safe here. You are free" that's so powerful to my heart. He is good and faithful. Thanks for this reminder.

  10. Casey – i found myself reading your words as if they were my own. I have felt pushed out of the nest by the Lord in many ways recently. Approaching my wedding day I see this happen more and more. My fiance is a dreamer that likes to push the limits and I am like you – comfortable. Praying for opportunities to step out of the comfort is terrifying but I love what you said…"You are safe here. You are free." That is so powerful for my heart. He is faithful and has so much more for us than we see. Thank you for this reminder.

gosh you sound like me. my God given word for this year is adventure…He actually told me (a once constant worrier) "I have called you to live a fearless life." …and I laughed like Sarah laughed when her baby was born and she was all old. ….and I believed it. And it's been amazing and it's only January!

but then i think….how exciting to follow a wild thing like the spirit into the wilderness…and how can you lose when you keep your eyes on the pillar of fire ahead by night and the pillar of cloud by day?

I am right there with you Casey. This year I want to really LIVE and walk in God's light.
