Austin: Lost Pines Trip

June 03, 2019

We look forward to summer all year long...probably myself more than the kids!

I ache for them all school year when the house is quiet, so we are really intentional in the summer, making the most of every moment we are gifted to spend together!  We have a lot of special trips planned, and our first of many was such a sweet way to kick off our summer of adventure!

( how awesome are these helmets?! cowboy hat shaped helmets!)

We just spent a week in Lost Pines with the family, and what a beautiful way to plan special, intentional time, hold each of my babies close, see them burst with joy and their eyes twinkle in wonder and fulfillment!

It melts my heart to know that these moments we put together for them will be impressed in their little minds and hearts forever!

I picture them telling their own kids stories about floating down the lazy river, giggling all the way!  They’ll share about their bravery as they conquered the water slide for the first time...and a million times after.  S'mores every evening and late night snake catching!

They’ll teach their kids to build sand castles just like we did together, and I pray when they take family bike rides with their own families they’ll reminisce and remember the conversation, laughter, and love that filled our time together!

It feels so good to step away, breathe in deep, and experience new adventures with the ones I love most!  We make sure our adventure is never wasted, and that being purposeful about our plans will in turn make room for the sweetest relaxed, flexible, and easy time spent enjoying each other!  So thankful for this trip.....the official kick-off to summer fun!
