I am in the midst of a storm. Among everything crumbling around me, a new storm arrived. It swept through monday morning. It is not something I wish to talk about more than that but I will write out some quotes and verses that I have been clinging to this week like never before.
“This is brokenness that has transformed my heart like nothing else could. On this side of that kind of pain, I can see a little more clearly. God wants you to lay down your judgment so that His merciful love can work through you.”
“I dont think we are ever allowed to grab hold of anything or anyone as though they matter more than the kingdom of heaven.”
“What if God wanted to improve your life or redirect your path and He needed your hands to be empty in order to take you there? Would He have to painfully pry your fingers, one by one, from the things you hold so tightly? Would He let you kick and scream and cry over your loss, so that He could pick you up and point you in the direction of kingdom treasure?”
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted & saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
I'm sorry about your newest storm, Casey. But your heart and perspective are in the right place. I hope some peace, understanding, and joy arrive soon.
Praying for you this morning- Love Psalm 34, so freeing. Mat 11:28-29.
