thanksgiving day

We spent the day today at my parents house and had such a wonderful Thanksgiving. 

I would love to say that this is the one day of the year that my heart is full and bursting with gratitude but the truth is that not a day goes by that I don't have to catch my breath. Life has me daily giving thanks.

Through beauty. heartache. happiness- always giving thanks.
It's important.

I was talking to a friend recently and she mentioned that I only have 14 years left with Aiden in our home. 14 years. That may seem like a long time but in the grand scheme of life that is so small. And the amount of years I am able to carry, snuggle and hold them are even shorter. 

I am thankful for this season. 
As busy as it is and with the sleepless nights and fast paced days- I am thankful. 
I am counting my blessings day by day, hour by hour.

Most days , these days,  I don't have time to read books. But occasionally before I close my eyes for the night I will skim a page or two in a favorite book of mine. Just to let words and inspiration seep into my soul as my last thoughts for the night. I was looking back through One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp and instantly remembered how much I love her writing and her message.
